Small things make all the difference, right? This week I was gladly surprised by a seemingly innocuous Facebook improvement that gives company page managers more control on how they use Facebook.
While I appreciate every like and comment our company page gets, I was slightly annoyed at not being able to like our posts as an individual user. It just seemed unfair to be punished for being the manager of a page. In fact, the more admins your page had, the more people you would lose as potential “likes.”
When I liked a post, it would appear as swissnex San Francisco liking its own post and that just didn’t seem right. It’s like trying to win a “competition” you are organizing.
Well, I am happy to report that is all history. Facebook now allows you to choose which profile you want to post and like on the pages you manage.
This is also a reminder to sometimes navigate Facebook as your page.
Go ahead and support your university’s department pages! A like from your official page will not go unnoticed and might get you a couple of more visitors.
